cidadao instigado
Cidadão Instigado is a band idealized by guitarist Fernando Catatau when he first moved to São Paulo in the early 1990's. After leaving the band "Companhia Blue", he started writing songs "lost in the city, walking in the streets, telling my experiences" he says.
In 1996, back to his home town of Fortaleza, Ceará, he got together with bassist Rian Batista, guitarist Regis Damasceno and drummer Clayton Martin to create the band. In 2002 Cidadão Instigado released its first album "Silêncio na Multidão", and in 2005 the critically acclaimed "Método Tufo de Experiências", mixing rock with traditional Brazilian northeast music, with generous influences of the "brega" from the 1970's.
"We play Brazilian rock music, mixed with a lot of thing. There's some invention, but it's basically rock", defines Catatau, who states that Cidadão instigado reflects the influences of two artists: Carlos Santana and Roberto Carlos.
UHUUU! - 2009

“UHUUU!” is the third album by Cidadão Instigado. Produced by the band members themselves, it brings an organic sound, closer to the live performances, and brings the first recordings with the band's new formation: Fernando Catatau (vocals, electric guitar and keyboards), Regis Damasceno (electric guitar, synth guitar, acoustic guitar and background vocals), Rian Batista (bass and background vocals), Clayton Martin (Drums) and Kalil Alaia (sound engineering and effects). They spent 3 months in studio making the happiest and sunniest album ever made by Cidadão Instigado. “O Nada”, “Ovelhinhas”, “Deus é uma Viagem” and the first single “Escolher pra quê?” are some of the 11 tracks in the CD. The project “UHUUU!” was one of the winners of the Pixinguinha Award, and was sponsored by Funarte.
